Dorothea Quarry, Klondyke Mill Explore - Day 2

Welcome back to day 2, of our Welsh Explore. Today, we are exploring another quarry and a mill, known as Dorothea Quarry and Klondyke Mill. Again, these places did not disappoint, as we were met with some amazing scenery and autumn colours. Like Cwmorthin Quarry, Dorothea was also a slate quarry but to a much smaller scale and operated around the same time. Dorothera Quarry first started work in the early 1820s and remained in production until 1970. Moving onto Klondyke Mill, it was an ore processing mill on the edge of Gwyydir Forest. It was built in 1900 to receive lead ore and some Zinc ore from the mines. It ceased operation in 1905 and the mill closed itself in 1911.
