STEP 1 - Check Your Order The first step is to check your contents and make sure that your order is correct & all your plants have arrived safely. If there is any problem with your order, please contact us immediately and we'll make it right. STEP 2 - Dip Your Roots Whether you're planting now or later, it's important to dip the roots of your trees. You don't need to leave them soaking, but give them a good dip & a shake before planting or storing. STEP 3 - Storing Your Trees If you're ready to plant now, skip ahead to one of our other tutorials on www.futureforests.ie Planting within a week? Once the roots have been dipped, you can put your plants back in the bag they came in. You want to tie the bag up tight and store them upright in a shed or outhouse, keeping the roots out of the wind. Planting a few weeks from now? The best way to store bareroot plants is to heel them in. This is as simple as digging a wee trench, putting all your trees together upright in the trench, and then loosely covering the trees with soil so the roots are protected from the elements. Be sure to plant your trees before the end of the bareroot season, usually mid-March, when trees start shooting leaves.
