LSP Seminar 2025: Author Ananda Devi on Storytelling from the Margins

This conversation between Professor Alison Rice of the University of Notre Dame and acclaimed Mauritian author Ananda Devi, recipient of the 2024 Neustadt International Prize for Literature, took place at the Nanovic Institute's Summer 2025 Laura Shannon Prize conference at Kylemore Abbey in Ireland. Devi discusses her approach to storytelling, her numerous influences, and her experience in writing "from the margins." The discussion concludes with a reading from Devi's most recent novel, Manger l’Autre, and a Q&A with the audience.
