Basic Information: Siren: Federal Signal 508-128 Town: Creston, OH (Cannan Township) System: Wayne County Siren System Location: Cannan Twp. Fire Department 1 Tested: First Monday at 12:00 (Possibly March-October) Uses: Tornado Siren Cycle: 1 Minute Alert Other Notes: So for today's First Monday test, I decided to head back down to Wayne County again. I haven't heard a 508 in a while, so I decided I should go and hear one. Kurt recorded this one back in 2018. At that time the siren still didn't rotate. After 2 years past, I assumed it would have been fixed, so I decided to go check it out myself. Unfortunately the siren still doesn't rotate. That seems to be a common issue with these older 508s. Cannan Twp revived a grant in 2013 to add 4 new 508s to replace the Model 5s in Burbank and Creston (Both are now inactive). There was some speculations that the Model 5 in Creston did a 6PM Blast, but at this time we can't confirm that. I was nervous they forgot to test, because I forgot to call today. Finally at 12:03 tones dropped and it fired up. Enjoy!
