Public Display of Spectacular Minerals! The Rice Rock & Mineral Museum

Just thought I would share some pictures from my recent visit to the Rice Museum. Located about an hour west of Portland, Oregon, the museum is home to an impressive collection of fossils, crystals, and various mineral types from around the world. There is particular emphasis on rocks from Oregon and Washington. I was amazed at the quality of minerals that come from Oregon. Some were much better than any I had ever seen before. There are literally thousands of samples on display ranging from thunder eggs, petrified wood, agates, gold, quartz and too many varieties to name.
