This is my first 3D scanner build video of the year, after sharing two archived videos of my old Avengers Quinjet cardboard model. In this video, I’m back to working on the scanner and assembling one of its most critical components, the power and networking unit. During the assembly, I realized that out of five units, only three outer panels were laser cut, so I simultaneously during the build, I laser cut the remaining panels. Once the assembly was complete, I powered up the unit and within moments, the cable started to smoke, indicating a wrong connection. I immediately unplugged all power supplies to prevent any damage. After troubleshooting, I discovered that the DC wires were connected incorrectly. This happened due to an incorrect assumption I had made earlier, which also reminded me that any information, including AI-generated suggestions must always be cross-verified, especially when dealing with electrical systems. After identifying the DC cable polarity correctly and reconnecting everything properly, I powered the unit again and this time all switches turned on and all power sources feeding the cameras worked perfectly. A stressful moment, a valuable lesson, and a satisfying end to the day. #3DScanner #Photogrammetry #ScannerBuild #ElectronicsBuild #MakerLife #BuildInPublic #WorkshopVlog #LearningByDoing
