This is a great little practice to help diminish the pain and discomfort associated with Sciatica. During the last few months of pregnancy and for a few months after I gave birth I was experiencing shooting pain down my left leg. I also would experience moments of complete lack of strength in that leg like the nerves were not communicating with the muscles properly. I took to the mat and discovered sort of by accident that strengthening my glutes and stretching my hips made a huge difference and eventually even resolved the issue.
