Repairing / restoring broken vintage old film | Cut and join 8mm film using a Super 8 splicer

This film reel has seen better days! Today, we show you how to repair and restore an old, broken vintage 8mm / Super 8 film. We will do our splice work, cutting the torn parts and joining the newly cut parts together using an 8 mm film / Super 8 film splicer from Konica. We will also do our splicing work using the original Konica tape from our splicer, but using the more recent Kodak presstapes for restoration purposes is also fine! ► INSTRUCTIONS Raise the cutter Push the Set lever to the "film" stand Install one end of the film over the positions pins and align it with the cut arrow mark so that the appropriate part gets cut out. Push the cutter down to do the first cut (I did this in 1 go in the video but that saves reinstalling the tapes after removing the cut parts) Raise the cutter Clear the cut part Install the other end of over the remaining position pins and align it with the cut arrow mark so that the appropriate part gets cut out.
