Lake District 2 Day 14 24/5/19 Climbing Haystacks from Buttermere

Today was another brilliant day in the Lake District, climbing one of it's most iconic peaks, and Wainwright's favourite, Haystacks. We started from the NT Car park, proceeded through the village and walked along the far shore of the lake until reaching Peggy's Bridge. From there the ascent started and we climbed steeply up to Scarth Gap with fabulous views in front and behind us. Then we took left for the summit up quite a difficult path that required a fair bit of scrambling. From the top we head tremendous 360 degree views of the mountains helped by another glorious day of weather. Then we return via Innominate Tarn, Black Beck Tarn, crossed the stream and returned to Buttermere on the other side of the valley. A great walk to end our holiday in the Lake District
