A light-hearted video of my visit (with my Whippet, Fiver) to Exbury Gardens near Beaulieu in the New Forest National Park. There is so much to see & explore in the 200 acres of Exbury Gardens and the timing of my visit - in late April - was perfect to experience the wonderful displays of azaleas. We both had a fun ride on the little Steam Railway that runs on a narrow guage track for 1.5 miles through the gardens. Dogs are allowed in the gardens - they have to be on leads at all times - as well as on the steam train. Do look up the website for Exbury Gardens to check out the ticket prices for entry (the car park is free) and opening times. At the time of filming (April 2023), prices were £15 for an Adult (£16.50 with Gift Aid) and a ride on the steam train was an extra £6. NB: The source of information on the story of the naming of the Mulberry Harbour comes from the book "The New Forest At War" by John Leete (page 84). CORRECTION: (At 2:39). Exbury was designated as HMS Mastodon from May 1942 to July 1945, subsequently HMS King Alfred January to June 1946 and then HMS Hawke from Aug 46 to 1955.
