Four people were arrested Wednesday evening after protesters refused to leave Portland City Hall, prompting a large police response that temporarily reduced police coverage across the city. “Last night’s response required nearly every available police officer that was working in the City of Portland," said Portland Police Bureau (PPB) Chief Bob Day, during a press conference held Thursday afternoon. That response left some neighborhoods with limited coverage and fewer officers to handle only the most urgent emergency calls.
