This is Part 1 of a 2-part series. This first part shows the basics of fly fishing for sailfish, or at least how the do it on the fly in Guatemala (one of the best places to chase sailfish and marlin), including the process, the challenges, what you need for success, and how awesome these fish are in general and to catch. Part 2 will be a bit more contemplative (and perhaps controversial) but will also have some heart-thumping scenes and show all the good stuff that fly fishing for sailfish is (along with showing the darker side).
