The ELT classroom is changing rapidly. Generation Alpha students, born between 2010 and 2024, demand a new approach to English language teaching. This session will explore the characteristics of digital natives-how their brains are wired differently in terms of attention, collaboration, and learning. Drawing on insights from neuroscience and practical classroom experience, the session will introduce new strategies to enhance student focus, strengthen collaborative skills, and integrate technology in meaningful ways. It will conclude with practical classroom techniques designed to prepare educators for the challenges of teaching in an increasingly volatile and complex world. #MyELTOC Olga Sayer is a TEFL teacher and e-learning designer with over 20 years of experience. Her background includes teaching in private language schools in the UK, as well as designing and building digital learning platforms and writing instructional materials. Her area of interest is creating modern digital learning experiences and exploring how educational psychology can support this process.
