🌟 Welcome to Session 7 of the AVEVA Everything3D Course! 🌟 👋 Hello and welcome! In this session, we're diving into modeling nozzles for equipment in AVEVA E3D. Nozzles act as interface points between equipment and connecting pipework. I recommend modeling nozzles in a separate sub-equipment: NOZZLES-OF-EQUI. Step-by-Step Guide to Modeling Nozzles Stay on the appropriate level in the hierarchy (EQUI or another SUBE). Create Sub-Equipment: Nozzle with position ENU:0,0,0. Create Nozzle: Name: Based on the equipment drawing. For instance, let's start with Nozzle N1. Specification: Refer to the nozzle table. For example, use ANSI or ASME standards (ANSI/ASME B16.5). Generic Type: From the nozzle table. For N1, it's 150#. Bore: As per the nozzle table: NPS=8 or 200mm. Height: Enter the height as specified in the nozzle table (projection distance between nozzle face and equipment tangent line). Press Enter after entering the height. Position: Specify the position (ENU=0,0,0) to align with the equipment origin. Press Enter. Orientation: Initially, nozzles are created in the East-West direction. Rotate N1 to face Up by setting the angle to 90° and direction to "About Y". Apply rotation. Move to Location: Use "Align with" and "Pick P-Point" to position the nozzle correctly. Select the intersection point of equipment tangent lines as the reference. Use the command window to move the nozzle: BY U 1460 and BY E 550, then press Enter. Creating Additional Nozzles N2: Specify the specification based on the nozzle table and create. Set position to 0,0,0. Use "Align with" and "P-Point" to position it. Move it to the correct location using the command window. N3: Follow the same steps as above. Important Notes 📝 Accurate Positioning: Proper nozzle placement is crucial to avoid costly reworks. Insulation Modeling: If your equipment has insulation, model it separately to prevent clashes during installation or operation. Equipment Examples: Check the APS project for examples of equipment modeling using primitives. Adding Equipment to Drawlist 🛠️ Stay on the equipment you want to add. Right-click, select 3D view, and add. Alternatively, drag and drop it to the drawlist. If the equipment is not in the current view, select "Center View" by right-clicking. To remove other elements and only add the current element, hold the shift key while dragging and dropping. Shaping Equipment with Primitives 🔧 Negative Primitives: Use negative primitives to hollow out solid primitives. Create the solid primitive. Cut it using the negative primitive. Negative primitives are owned by their solid counterparts and only affect their owners. Adjust the position of the negative primitive relative to its solid primitive’s origin. Hole Drawn: Enabled by default in the "representation" tab of the "graphics settings" in the "view" tab. This shows the final shape with the negative cut. Disable "Hole Drawn" to see the solid primitive with the negative shown in dashed lines.
