Today we go luxury and join Elite of the Seas for a 3 day, 2 night cruise of Halong Bay. We leave Nihn Bihn and the cruise company pick us up and take us to the cruise terminal at Halong Bay. We have done a Halong Bay Cruise before but it was 7 years ago, the weather was not great and the boat was nothing like this. So we boarded Elite of the Seas via speedboat transfer and it takes approx 30 minutes to get out to the Elite of the Seas. The boat stays moored for long parts of the cruise and receives guests at point A then cruises to Point B, so your sailing time is small. You are here for the views. We were greeted and fed as soon as we arrived and taken to our room, an Executive Suite in the aft of the boat. It is more than adequate and well appointed with everything you would need. On the 2nd night they moved us to the Penthouse Suite at the forward section of the boat. This was double the size and about double the price, luckily we didn't pay anything extra, it was just empty. The Elite of the Seas is very luxurious and a completely different experience than our last time, and the weather was fabulous. They also took drone footage so that gave us an opportunity to capture some amazing footage. The boat doesn't actually go too far so most of the time you can see the bay and land. This means internet is good although there are so many cruisers in the Bay now it is difficult to get that being on your own feeling, it is just so crowded. The company throw in a couple of tours and we did get on one of tours but the reason you are here is for the views. We talk through the different itineraries available as well as the difference between a 2 day 1 night compared to a 3 day 2 night. Vietnam are masters of marketing and the actual time onboard is either 24 or 48 hours.
