Last night, I spent nearly two hours in conversation with about two dozen of our Mingle Meetup captains from all across the country. These are screenshots from the conversation, and we will be releasing the full discussion on my YouTube page. Thank you to Bonnie Glushon for organizing the meeting and serving as the de facto leader of the group. The conversation left me invigorated about the Mingle Project. Thank you, Jeff in Minnesota. And Beth in Chicago. Erin in Dallas. And Sarah in Oklahoma. Venice in Nashville. Jake and Lori in Richmond. Diane in Sacramento. Jen in NYC. Liz on Long Island. Tom in Albany. Lindsay in Portland. Brian in Austin. Doug in Traverse City. Ryan in Portsmouth and Tom in Providence. Ray and Rich in Vegas. Amy in Houston. Amy in White Plains. Joe in Philly. Glen in Cincinnati. Renée in Kansas City. Lisa in Doylestown. Michelle in Phoenix. And my old neighbor, Chuck in Atlanta. Here’s the deal: In roughly three dozen cities across the country, listeners of my radio program—people who are advocates for reconnecting societal disconnect by reestablishing common experience—are organizing community gatherings for those who want to Mingle. Each Mingle Meet Up has a different approach. Some meet in bars or restaurants; others in nonprofit spaces. Some talk politics; others avoid the subject entirely. Many—but not all—attendees are listeners of my program. And some, I learned last night, gather in search of companionship. The groups are small but growing. More have signed up for events than have attended, and I heard from several captains that they would like more participation from conservatives. I encourage anyone who wants to Mingle to search for a gathering near you using the Mingle drop-down on my website. And if you don’t see your community represented, perhaps you’ll start a Mingle Meet Up of your own.
