In Niger State, 100 students of the Saint Mary’s Catholic School regained their freedom from abductors, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commending security agencies for their work. The students were received by Governor Umaru Bago at the Government House after spending two weeks in captivity. Online, some questioned how the students were returned without the announcement of corresponding arrests. Meanwhile, the Christian Association of Nigeria in a statement said it had not received official notification regarding the release of the students, raising questions about coordination between security agencies and key stakeholders in the release process. It comes as United States Congressman Riley Moore described the rescue as a positive demonstration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's response to the country's security challenges. The police spokesperson confirmed the incident, assuring the victims’ families that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
