In Niger State, 100 students of the Saint Mary’s Catholic School regained their freedom from abductors, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commending security agencies for their work. The students were received by Governor Umaru Bago at the Government House after spending two weeks in captivity. Online, some questioned how the students were returned without the announcement of corresponding arrests. Meanwhile, the Christian Association of Nigeria in a statement said it had not received official notification regarding the release of the students, raising questions about coordination between security agencies and key stakeholders in the release process. It comes as United States Congressman Riley Moore described the rescue as a positive demonstration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's response to the country's security challenges. Moore made the comments after meeting with National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu in Abuja. In addition, Moore met with Benue State religious and traditional leaders to discuss ongoing violence in the Middle Belt region. In another development, the Confederation of Sahel States accused Nigeria of violating Burkina Faso’s airspace after a Nigerian Air Force aircraft carrying 11 people was forced to land in the country. But in a statement, the Nigerian Air Force responded that the landing was precautionary and followed due process, adding that their crew has received cordial treatment from their host authority. In Sokoto State, several reports indicated that Nigerian security forces successfully killed 7 terrorists in the Sabon Birni forest, highlighting the strides of Nigerian troops in fighting back. In Anambra State, the wife of an Anglican Pastor identified as Venerable Obiese was killed after gunmen attacked Saint Andrew's Church and set the building on fire. The police spokesperson confirmed the incident, assuring the victims’ families that the perpetrators will be brought to justice. In our Good News Report, we highlight Alahaji Aliko Dangote's announcement of a new, $700 million dollar investment to Nigerian education. Under Milestones, we celebrate Senate President Godswill Akpabio on his 63rd birthday. #Nigeria #NigerState #SecurityUpdates #BreakingNews #NationalNews #NigeriaToday #SaintMarysSchool #StudentsReleased #NigerianSecurity #BolaAhmedTinubu #UmaruBago #SafeReturn #KidnappingCrisis #SecurityAgencies #PublicReactions #CAN #StakeholderEngagement #SecurityCoordination #RileyMoore #USNigeriaRelations #NuhuRibadu #MiddleBeltCrisis #PeaceAndSecurity #SahelRegion #AirspaceViolationClaims #NigerianAirForce #BurkinaFaso #RegionalTensions #SokotoState #SabonBirni #CounterTerrorism #TroopsInAction #AnambraState #ChurchAttack #SaintAndrewsChurch #JusticeForVictims #CommunitySafety #GoodNewsNigeria #AlikoDangote #EducationInvestment #700MillionInvestment #GodswillAkpabio #HappyBirthdayAkpabio #63rdBirthday Subscribe to our Channel for high profile interviews.
