I started my career in teaching EAL (English as a Second Language) to secondary students. I had considered a career in policing, however I was too short for the Romanian police standards. I relocated to the UK 4 years ago, continued teaching EAL and later on secured a position as a Geography teacher in a Hertfordshire school. After much consideration, I decided to apply for the role of Police Constable within Hertfordshire Constabulary in August 2020. At the moment, I am 3 weeks into being a student police officer and very proud with what I’ve achieved. Police Inspector David Skarratts I have been a police Officer since 2005. I started my career in Borehamwood in Uniform on response. I progressed to the tactical team where I became a PSU (Riot) Police Officer and then specialised as a PSU Medic. I was involved in the London Riots and also the EDL riots. In 2020, I then became the Acting Detective Inspector. I am currently responsible for the investigation of Serious and Organised Crime including high risk threat areas such as drug trafficking, firearms supply and use, kidnaps and human trafficking within the Eastern Region of the United Kingdom. Police Sergeant Andrew Pardy I have been a police officer since 2002. I started as an Intervention & Response officer in St. Albans during my first two years, and then transferred to the Safer Neighbourhoods Team in Hemel Hempstead. I then transferred to Watford as an Intervention & Response officer whilst training to become a Sergeant. In 2020 I joined the Positive Action Recruitment Team at Headquarters, where I currently work. In my current role I work to ensure that anyone can apply to become a police officer in Hertfordshire. I identify obstacles that may stop people applying, and work towards removing them so that everyone can apply on an equal basis without fear of discrimination.
