Le Guiers mort has just been labeled “Wild Rivers Site” which promotes and protects rivers with good ecological functioning. From the Guiers Mort source in Perquelin (St Pierre de Chartreuse) to the Fourvoirie site of Saint Laurent du Pont, 12 km of the Guiers Mort river have been labeled as Chartreuse. It is the first river in Isère to benefit from this label which counts in all and for all about fifteen rivers in France. The main objective of the “Wild Rivers Site” label is to improve the protection and conservation of rivers that are functioning well ecologically. This tool makes it possible to bring together all the actors of the territory who are concerned by the management of the river and its surrounding environments. On Saturday July 27, on the occasion of the Guiers Festival, the Réciprocité Guiers association and the Chartreuse Regional Nature Park, the two co-holders of this label, officially received this label.
