The Return of Mfowethu, Last Shishangaan Brother of Casper the White Lion, Causes Traffic Standstill

After a long absence and fears that he may have died, Mfowethu – the last surviving Shishangaan brother of Casper the White Lion – has resurfaced. We were thrilled to encounter him north of Satara Rest Camp in Kruger National Park, together with two breakaway lionesses from the Satara Pride and their young cub, as well as Nkosana, the young subadult son of Casper and his brothers. Their presence caused a massive traffic jam on the main road. Meanwhile, Casper himself is still recovering after being treated by SANParks veterinarians for septic bite wounds sustained during a recent clash with one of the young Ngotso South/S90 males. We can only hope he will soon rejoin this group. This footage was filmed on the 11th of August 2025, about 4 km north of Satara Rest Camp in Kruger National Park.
