This action was held on the day Congress was once again debating funding levels for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). For many communities, this debate is not abstract. ICE’s tactics have terrorized immigrants across the country, using workplace raids, home arrests, surveillance, detention, and family separation to create fear and instability. During this brief but urgent “Call With Us!” program, we discussed the issues, shared talking points, answered questions, and then paused the conversation for participants to go make calls to their Senators and House Reps urging them to hold ICE accountable and reject policies rooted in fear and authoritarianism.
