Hey guys, welcome back to ChriswithaC RC! 😎 Today’s video is a proper one I’ve been running the RadioLink RC8X for just over a year now, and I wanted to sit down and share why I bought it, what I love about it, and whether it’s held up for bashing, racing & crawling my electric & nitro trucks. My relationship with Radiolink my sponsorship , customer support, reliability, etc. 📋 RC8X Full Specs & Key Features Transmitter Specs: 8 Channels (2.4GHz ISM band, 2400-2483.5 MHz) Spread Spectrum: FHSS, 67-channel pseudo-random frequency hopping Channel resolution: ~4096 with regular jitter ~0.25-0.5 µs Screen: 4.3-inch full-color IPS touchscreen, 800×480 resolution Model memory: up to 300 model groups saved Operating voltage: 7-17V DC (8×AAA batteries, or 2S-4S LiPo, or 6S Ni-MH) Operating current: ~250mA ±10mA @ 8.4V with screen light on; ~190-200mA with screen off Control distance: ~600m (~1968 ft) in unobstructed conditions Compatible receivers: includes R8FG by default, also supports older/various receivers like R7FG, R6FG, R8EF, R8FM, R4FGM, etc. Telemetry: real-time monitoring of battery voltage, RSSI, receiver voltage Safety / power features: • Low-voltage alarms (TX, RX, model battery) • Reverse polarity protection for power input Extras: • Voice broadcast support • Customizable menus, themes, fonts, desktop, system theme, etc. • Adjustable trigger tension & slide, left/right wheel installation (for lefties) 🛠 How I Use It in My RC Life For bashing throwing big jumps, flying over rough terrain, I need durability and range. The RC8X has been solid. For racing fast starts, corners, throttle response, consistency matter. I put it through GPS speed runs & track laps. For crawling slow, precise control, steering curves. The telemetry, gyro (in receiver R8FG), and adjustable mixes help here. ⚙️ Setup Guide: Receiver, Binding & Firmware Included in the video: step-by-step of how I installed the R8FG receiver in one of my trucks. Binding process: how to link the RC8X to the receiver cleanly without those annoying glitches. Firmware updates: how to get official firmware, use the Type-C cable, use the SD card / USB method. (I also share what firmware version I’m running.) 💭 My Thoughts After One Year What I love: The feel of the controls, especially when switching from older radios. Screen clarity, menu layout. How reliable the signal has been in mixed terrain. Telemetry always helpful knowing when battery or RX voltage is dropping. What could be better: (You’ll find in the video) small niggles I’ve noticed — There isnt many that i can assure you .
