📖 Main Bible Passage: John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” 🔰 Introduction Dear brothers and sisters, Today we are going to focus on a very serious and timely subject — “The Peace That Jesus Gives.” When we look at the world today— In one country there is war, In another, civil war, Somewhere political instability, Somewhere religious conflict, Somewhere economic crisis. Hatred, anger, fear, and insecurity exist between people. Not only outside in the world, but a war is also raging inside the human heart. There is no peace in homes, No harmony in families, Fear and anxiety fill the mind. 👉 In the middle of this restless world, Jesus says: “I give you peace.” This peace— Is not brought by guns, Is not created by agreements, Is not bought by money, Does not come because circumstances are good. This peace is given by Jesus Himself, and He Himself is the Prince of Peace. 🎯 Topic: How can we receive peace in a restless world? 1️⃣ The Difference Between the World’s Peace and Jesus’ Peace 📖 John 14:27 Jesus says, “Not as the world gives do I give to you.” 🔹 The peace the world gives: Peace exists only when circumstances are good Peace exists only when there are no problems Peace exists only when there is power, position, and security Peace exists only when everyone in the family is healthy and everything is going well Peace exists only when there is plenty of money and wealth — a temporary and fragile peace But the Bible says that for the wicked, there is no peace. 📖 Isaiah 48:22 “There is no peace,” says the Lord, “for the wicked.” 🔹 The peace Jesus gives: It remains firm even in storms It walks with us even through tears It is experienced even in prison It does not leave even at death 📖 Philippians 4:4–7 (NNRV) [4] Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice. [5] Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is near. [6] Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. [7] And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 👉 This peace is not a feeling; it is the presence of God. Example: When the boat was shaking in the storm, Jesus was sleeping. 📖 Mark 4:39–40 (NNRV) The storm was outside, but peace was inside Jesus. 2️⃣ First Way to Receive Peace: We must have a right relationship with Jesus — we must live in reconciliation with Him 📖 Romans 5:1–8 👉 Until we are reconciled with God, true peace will never come into the heart. Today many people come to church, attend services, sing hymns, and listen to sermons — yet they do not experience peace. Because unless you and I have a personal relationship with Jesus, we cannot experience true peace. 📖 Isaiah 53:5 “He was wounded for our transgressions… the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him.” 👉 The cross is the price of peace. Example: If the electric wire coming from the power station is broken in the middle, light will never reach our home. In the same way, when our relationship with Jesus is broken, peace cannot reach our heart. 3️⃣ Second Way to Receive Peace: Surrender your worries to Jesus 📖 Matthew 11:28–29 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” 📖 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” 👉 Many believers pray, but they keep their worries with themselves. Jesus says: Give Me your worries, Give Me your burdens, Give Me your fears. 📖 John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled.” Example: A child is not afraid when in the arms of his parents, because he knows his parents are with him. In the same way, when Jesus is with us, we have nothing to fear, because we are hidden in Christ. 4️⃣ Third Way to Receive Peace: Focus your mind on the Word of God 📖 Psalm 119:165 “Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble.” 👉 The news of the world increases fear, anxiety, and despair. 👉 But the Word of God increases faith, hope, and peace. 📖 Isaiah 26:3 (NNRV) “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” Example: Whatever fills the mind, that same thing bears fruit in life. If your mind is filled with words of peace, the fruit will be peace. But if your mind is filled with unrest, the fruit will be unrest. 5️⃣ Fourth Way to Receive Peace: Walk in the guidance of the Holy Spirit 📖 Galatians 5:22–23 (NNRV) [👉 Peace is not produced by practice. 👉 Peace is the fruit of the Spirit. 📖 Romans 8:6 To set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.” Example: A tree does not need to say, “I will bear fruit.” If the tree is healthy and alive, it naturally bears fruit.
