3. Making Our Driveway, Using an Excavator and Starting a Root Cellar

We haven't been able to drive up to our build site at all before now, and the part we could drive up was questionable at best. It was finally time to rent an excavator to dig out all of the stumps along the way, cut some swales to redirect water, do some grading, and start a fun, new project. We also dug another sneaky tiny pond or two here and there while we had it. We know we won't get it all right the first go around, but we're doing our best to think about a lot of the details that end up coming back to bite you later, so it's slow going, but we're enjoying giving our best effort to this beautiful land!
