Puli Pitha is a traditional Bengali Makar Sankranti sweet made with soft rice flour dough and filled with a delicious mixture of grated coconut and jaggery. Steamed to perfection, these crescent-shaped pithas are mildly sweet, soft, and full of festive flavors. A winter special that brings warmth, tradition, and homemade love to every bite. Ingredients: Grated Coconut: 2 Cups (Fresh is better) Khoa/Mawa: 100g (Grated or crumbled) Date Palm Jaggery (Nolen Gur): 1 Cup (Adjust to your sweetness) Cardamom Powder: ½ tsp Finely Chopped Nuts: 1 tbsp (Optional) Method: Melt Jaggery: In a heavy-bottomed pan, add the jaggery with 1-2 tbsp of water and melt it on low heat. Add Coconut: Once the jaggery starts bubbling, add the grated coconut. Mix well and cook on medium flame for 5-7 minutes. Add Khoa: When the mixture looks sticky, add the Khoa. This adds a rich, creamy texture. Stir continuously until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan. Flavoring: Add cardamom powder and chopped nuts. Mix one last time. Cooling: Transfer to a plate and let it cool completely before stuffing the pithas. #PuliPitha #MakarSankranti #SankrantiSpecial #BengaliPitha #TraditionalSweet #BengaliRecipe #WinterSpecial #HomemadeSweet #FestivalRecipe #IndianSweets #RiceFlourRecipe #JaggerySweet #CoconutFilling #SteamedSweet #PithaRecipe #BengaliFood #DesiTaste #HomeCooking #FestiveFood #BiniHomeKitchen
