Part 1: My Chronic Illness Diagnostic Journey This week, I’m taking you back to the beginning of my chronic illness story. It started with extreme fatigue and rashes after just a short time in the sun. I was miserable for days… but I never fully recovered. What followed was months of appointments with infectious disease, neurology, and rheumatology. My labs showed mild inflammatory markers, but nothing conclusive—until I was eventually diagnosed with undifferentiated connective tissue disease, ME/CFS, and small fiber neuropathy. When I had to complete an assessment to return to work, it was so clear to me that I wasn’t ready. But without a full picture of what was going on, I pushed through—and eventually gave up on finding more answers. After moving to Colorado, I started over.
