This is a playthrough using Kairi in the Arcade version of Street Fighter EX 1. Read on below for more information... Kairi is a hidden character in the game, he becomes playable through time-release. ===== HOW TO UNLOCK KAIRI ===== As well as time-release, there is also a hidden input code that unlocks him straight away. Here's how to do it: 1) Go into the game's Test Menu, and enter into the Color option. 2) Now input the following: LP, MP, HP, HP, HK. If you've done it correctly, the "Here Comes A New Challenger" text will appear at the bottom of the screen. Kairi will now be unlocked, along with Allen, Blair and Darun. ===== ABOUT KAIRI ===== Kairi was born to the main house of the Mizukami family, and is the older brother of Hokuto and Nanase. Trained in his family's traditional martial arts, he lost his memories when he fought his own father in a fight to the death. As a result, he spent several years wandering around the world and fighting for no reason. The only thing that does remain in his memory are the words "you must challenge your limits". These words led Kairi into thinking that the only way to recover his memories was to follow the way of the Shura and fight, replacing his lost memories with the nature of a demon. As he continued fighting, eventually Kairi fought his younger sister Hokuto in a fight to the death on several occasions. Nanase, the youngest of the siblings, tried to stop them but it was always an unavoidable fate for Kairi and Hokuto. Gameplay-wise, this guy can be considered a Ryu clone because he has the three trademark Shotokan special moves as well as a super air fireball and a Raging Demon style super, but he does have his own unique super move (where he uppercuts the opponent and does an multi-hit air combo) which gives him a different dimension of play. ===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / TRIVIA ===== ---- He, along with the other time-release characters, does not appear as a CPU opponent in the game. ---- He appears in an early beta development version of SFEX, shown in a video online. ---- He also appears in a video from an Arika 3DS test project called Fighting Sample. ===== ABOUT ARCADE SFEX1 ===== Back then, the idea of a 3D Street Fighter game certainly got everyone's interest... then Arika said yes and Street Fighter EX was born. The game was reportedly not well-received at first, but eventually the gameplay won the people over. The Specials into Supers and Supers into Supers cancelling was one of the best things about the gameplay and kind of set it as a trademark for SFEX. This version of the game also sees the debuts of the "Arika characters", with Pullum, Cracker Jack, Hokuto, Doctrine Dark and Skullomania appearing initially on the character select screen, then later on Blair, Allen, Darun and Kairi being available through time release. Garuda serves as an unplayable hidden mid-boss character. These Akira characters turned out to be pretty popular... so 22 years later, here they are again in Fighting EX Layer. Time flies by.
