A video showing buses in Navan (County Meath), recorded in September 2024. This is what seems to have become the traditional annual visit to Navan in September, having done so previously in 2023 (   • Navan Buses | September 2023  ) and 2022 (   • Navan Buses | September 2022  ). This time though was much wetter than on those two occasions. Navan is almost located in the centre of County Meath, and has good regional connections to other towns. These connections have improved a lot in recent years. Since the last visit, Local Link have introduced route 189 which runs from Enfield to Navan via Trim. Local Link route 188 continues to connect Enfield and Drogheda with Navan. Both of these routes are operated by Halpenny Travel. Bus Eireann continue to provide connections to Drogheda, Trim, Athlone, Kells, Dublin and a variety of other places. There has been one major infrastructure change in Navan since the last visit, which is the new bus area on Kennedy Road. This is on the other side of the Navan Shopping Centre compared to previous main stop on Abbey Road. Route NX has also been extended to Navan Park&Ride since the last visit, located on the western side of the town. The Kennedy Road stop is now an intermediate stop for that route, rather than a terminus, and the NX passes through the main square in the town on its way to Dublin. I always visit Navan on a Thursday so I can see the three once-a-week (routes 134, 135 & 136) services. However, this time I only saw one of them, which I believe was route 135. It went from the stop at the shopping centre (on the road that connects Abbey Road and Kennedy Road), and it is possible the other two routes went from the new stops on Kennedy Road.
