Sonny Patel started her career at Microsoft, working her way up from an entry-level position as a program manager in the Windows division to a senior program manager lead. Her love for AI began almost a decade ago when she led product and engineering at Amazon’s Alexa team and helped deliver several AI and ML-powered capabilities, such as voice authentication and identification to power Alexa’s conversational AI capabilities, as well as enabling Alexa to proactively notify users when important events such as shopping deliveries happen. Joseph Zabinski, PhD, MEM, is VP, Head of Commercial Strategy & AI at OM1. He oversees the design, implementation, and evolution of OM1’s commercial strategy, including prioritization, go-to-market planning, and alignment with emergent market needs. Mikaela Grace, Head of AI/ML Engineering at Welocalize, is a distinguished expert in machine learning for natural language processing. A Stanford University alumnus with a Master’s in Theoretical Computer Science, Mikaela honed her expertise at Google, where she worked on Speech team to deploy ASR models at scale. Peter Ondish, Ph.D., is a computational social scientist with over 15 years of applied behavioral and data science experience and now oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of scientific initiatives. His current research focuses on 1) creating digital tools to reduce misinformation (with the Misinformation Research Lab) and 2) how to build community-supported technology that prioritizes user ownership and data Sovereignty – that is, how to make technology users the owners of their own data.
