Real community voices from the "ICE Out" resistance in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During the ICE Surge, Minneapolis responded in powerful and personal ways — from protests and vigils to documentation and mutual aid — and the nation paid attention. Community interviews from an "ICE Out" protest and a memorial service for Renee Good, along with street interviews about ICE's impact on community lives. Engage with these community interviews and what their actions can teach the rest of the country. Community organizing lessons about helping neighbors, mutual aid, and big and small things people are doing. Includes interviews, Immigrant voices, protest footage, Renee Good memorial gathering, and community reflection. Indigenous civic and spiritual leaders organized the public memorial for Renee Macklin Good in Minneapolis after a federal agent shot and killed her. The event was titled “Wokiksuye” — a Dakota and Lakota word meaning “to remember” or “to call someone back into presence,” according to an event handout. Filmed for Dear Democracy.
