🔱 The First Sea Βass of the Season | Shallow Spearfishing in Captivating Scenery 🐟

Hey, everyone! 👋🏻 Welcome back to another exciting spearfishing adventure! ☀️ Along with my buddy Simos, we opted for a shallow spearfishing escapade in the crystal-clear waters of Halkidiki, Greece. The sun's out, the weather's splendid, and the sea is as calm as can be. Despite it being early January, the water temperature sits around 17 degrees Celsius – a bit warmer than usual for this season. However, I got a feeling we might just stumble upon the first sea bass of the season. 🌊 Quickly unloading our gear from the car, we get ready for the dive. Right from the first dives, I spot some decent grey mullets and manage to catch one. We also stumble upon a baby moray eel, which we treated it with the guts of the mullet. Later, I have my initial run-in with a sea bass in the distance. Both Simos and I actively go for sea bass, holding back on other tempting catches. 🐙 Simos, however, couldn't resist grabbing a nice octopus under a rock. Surprisingly, there's another, smaller one on the flip side, which we let go to keep things sustainable. 🔱 Soon after, during an ambush, another sea bass swims straight towards me, and I nail a solid shot. Thrilled to have caught the first sea bass of the season! I stayed around the, but no other fish showed up. On my way to another spot, I shoot a sizable green wrasse and another grey mullet. Unfortunately, my camera was pointed the wrong way for these shots. 🐟 Simos lands a killer shot on a passing grey mullet, beefing up our catch. He also stumbles upon an impressive Mediterranean red sea star. Before heading back to the shore, we check out a deeper spot, spotting some small dentex and brown meagres under a boulder. 🌅 With the sun setting, we quickly clean our fish and head out of the water.
