Such solid, respectable belt fighting- perhaps not as flashy as his opponents, but providing a powerful yet modest style entirely welcome in the often chaotic 2023 Makuuchi crowd. A full two years later, we welcome the former Ozeki back to the top division home that he never should have had to leave. While the likes of insurmountable Terunofuji and mad thruster Daieisho were able to take him down, (and yeah sure, Hokuseiho too...and not to dig too deep but I'm not certain Kotoeko lost that match...) he still marks his return with a solid 12-3 runner up position. Can he regain Ozeki though...July will be telling, I for one can't wait to see him facing the upper echelons...mark my words there's gonna be some nail biting sumo come next basho. Cheers!
