DAY 21 | Ruth 1–4 |Redemption Through Covenant Faithfulness The book of Ruth takes place during the dark period of the Judges, yet its story reveals a beautiful picture of redemption and divine providence. Naomi and her family leave Bethlehem during a famine and settle in Moab. After tragedy strikes and Naomi’s husband and sons die, she prepares to return to Israel. Ruth, her Moabite daughter-in-law, demonstrates extraordinary loyalty by choosing to remain with Naomi and follow the God of Israel. Back in Bethlehem, Ruth meets Boaz, a relative who acts as a kinsman-redeemer, providing protection, provision, and ultimately marriage. Through this act of redemption, Ruth becomes part of the lineage of King David—and eventually the lineage of Jesus Christ. During national spiritual decline, God quietly advances His redemptive plan through ordinary acts of faithfulness.
