TIMELAPSE | Lightweight Floating Floor [Spring System] | MASON UK LTD – One London Wall Gym

This video shows the time-lapse of a lightweight MFS-AJ sprung floating floor. The video includes the laying out and levelling of the adjustable spring mounts, and the construction of the boarded floor including a layer of paving slabs for a gym project in London. The floating floor is built upon the adjustable MFS-AJ floating floor mounts that are specifically designed for lightweight and formwork floating floors, and due to their adjustable nature, are perfectly suited to applications where the structural slab is uneven. Our system is an elegant solution to this common problem, with each mount able to be adjusted locally. Our spring mounts are used in this gym application as they are much more effective against impact forces and low frequency vibration than rubber or foam materials. In the video, the MFS-AJ spring mounts are laid out and levelled in sequence. Next, timber battens are fixed to the specially designed U-channel tops of the MFS-AJ mounts. The void between the timber battens and mounts is filled with sound-deadening mineral wool to aid in the acoustic performance. After this, the first layer of high quality plywood boards is laid down in a staggered layout. Following the plywood boards, the paving slabs are grouted in place. The final layer of plywood is screwed down on top to tie the entire construction together. Finally, the shuttering and boards are cut out and finished around the edges and cable boxes. Mason UK worked effectively with multiple trades throughout the project to ensure that all aspects where carried out to the project schedule, for example the cabling under the floating floor.
