The Amari Project: How Gridworks is upgrading Uganda's electricity transmission infrastructure

This is Amari Power Transmission, a first-of-its-kind project to use private investment to support the development of Uganda’s electricity transmission sector. In June 2022, Gridworks and the Government of Uganda announced that the US$90 million project. Developed and financed by Gridworks, it will deliver better quality electricity to customers, particularly large industrial users who need reliable energy to help create jobs and boost the economy. Privately funded transmission and distribution projects have been used for decades in the rest of world. It’s crucial that the African continent also has access to this form of funding in order to meet the challenges it faces. Take a look to learn more about our new project.
