EPIC-WE Capacity Building Series Workshop #4: Diversity and Inclusion in Games 📅 Recorded on 20 January 2025 The EPIC-WE capacity building series continued with a workshop exploring diversity, discrimination, and inclusion in the gaming sector. In this session, participants reflected on different perspectives and experiences related to discrimination in gaming and discussed how the industry can become a safer and more inclusive space for all. The workshop also presented examples and experiences from EPIC-WE Cultural Hubs, followed by an open discussion and exchange with participants. Speakers Anette Parviste Co-Founder and CEO of AudioCat, an innovative game development company creating accessible audiogames for visually impaired players while bridging the gap between sighted and visually impaired gamers. AudioCat’s mission is to promote accessibility in gaming, foster inclusivity, and build diverse communities through immersive sound-based experiences. Em Hansen (They/Them) Research Assistant at Aarhus University working on diversity and inclusion within EPIC-WE. They hold a master’s degree in Aesthetics & Culture and specialise in the intersection of queer theory, inclusion and diversity, and the creative videogame industry.
