The tradition of celebrating the setting sun in Key West, FL is as old as Key West. We have records of folks from all walks of life enjoying the sunsets at the now Mallory Square since the 1800s. The nightly ritual evolved into an official event: the Sunset Celebration. Every evening you can find the square full of artists, musicians, street performers, vendors, and of course the tourists and locals enjoying the festivities. This beloved event is a unique part of Key West culture and is one of the things that sets Key West apart from other tourist destinations.
