I had installed a Viofo A119 V3 dash cam for the front view on my 2010 Ford Fusion. My purchase was based on YouTubers Andrew Lam and BC Hobbyist reviews. There is a staggering amount of information and dash cameras out there. I learned that a high price didn’t mean better quality. After a lot of research I kept coming back to the Viofo. The hardest part on these installations is hiding the cable without tearing the car apart. With a bit of planning and some simple tools you can install it just as good as any professional. Later I did a 2013 Fusion which took 1/4 of the time and was almost identical. The console in 2013 was a little different but the concept was the same. You can purchase a hard wire kit if you want to use the parking mode and your vehicle battery to supply the power. It is designed to turn off the cameras if the car battery is getting too low to start the car. Generally my cars are garaged when not in use. If I park the car at a shopping mall or area for extended times I use a portable battery supply to power them. Depending on the size I can easily get 4-6 hours of recording or more. It depends on how you set up the parking mode. With all the crazy things that are happening on the roads these days I wanted to install front and rear cameras before I got caught up in a incident. Doing the installation yourself makes it affordable for this high quality yet budget friendly camera. I am extremely pleased with the purchase. I hope this helps you when you plan to install a dash cam. Thanks for watching, Roger
