Hello & Welcome to Harnetty Railways In this compilation we review between 2016 & 2019 of 76084 Locomotive Company Ltd's BR Std 4 mogul 76084 a former Lower Darwen (10H) of Blackburn, Sutton Oak (8G) of St Helens & Springs Branch (8F) of Wigan loco under the ownership of British Rail upon withdrawal from service in December 1967 after a working life of just over a decade after being outshopped from Horwich works in March 1957. After languishing at Dai Woodhams Scrapyard between 1968 to 1983 she was rescued by the late Phil Rollin after 15 years at the scrapyard she was moved to Retford in Notinghamshire. 76084's restoration back to full working order didn't start till 1997 & during that time a new company was formed in The 76084 Locomotive Company Ltd which began to restore 76084 back to full working order including the fitting of the safety equipment to enable her to return to the mainline for the 1st time since December 1967. She made her 1st movements under her own steam for 1st time in preservation in early 2013 & moved to The North Norfolk Railway to commence running in before returning to revenue earning service after a 16 year restoration. Between 2013 & the best part of 9 months of 2016 she was mostly running on heritage railways in readiness to return to the mainline since December 1967. Our 1st filming encounter of her was in September 2016 during her engine & coach move from her home on The North Norfolk Railway to West Coast Railways depot at Carnforth 10A ready for her loaded test run. We move onto the next day as we see her depart carnforth with 7 coaches & a WCRC class 37 diesel in tow before seeing her at speed on the down fast through Lancaster. The test run was a success & she heading via Hellifield & York to The North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a few months stay including appearing at the Rly's Welsh themed Autumn Steam Gala. We feature 76084's highlights during her residency in North Yorkshire assisting on the Whitby services most of the filming was at her best on the 1 in 49 grade between Grosmont to Goathland before the summit at Moorgates. We have on board highlights between Whitby & Pickering. We end this video between 2017 & 2019 at her home on the poppy line between Sheringham & Holt. Featuring her highlights along the 5 mile line along the coast including hauling the demonstration gds during the Autumn Steam Gala in 2019.
