Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter for a detailed walkthrough of the breathtaking Hogwarts Castle model, now brought to life with a dramatic new show as part of the 2025 Triwizard Tournament event. In this 4K tour, we circle the intricately crafted castle model as it transforms from day to night, revealing every turret, courtyard, and hidden pathway in incredible detail. As part of the event, a powerful light and sound projection re-creates the thrilling first task from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, where a Hungarian Horntail dragon chases Harry Potter across the castle rooftops. With Albus Dumbledore narrating, flames shoot across the structure before Harry grabs the golden egg and escapes to safety—just like in the film. The Hogwarts Castle model is the artistic centrepiece of the entire Studio Tour. Built for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the model was used for sweeping exterior shots of the school, later enhanced with digital effects. A team of 86 artists constructed the miniature using real landscaping materials, including hand-sculpted rockwork, real plants, and over 2,500 fibre optic lights to simulate lanterns, torches, and moving shadows through the halls. Inspired by real-life locations like Alnwick Castle, Durham Cathedral, and the Scottish Highlands, this detailed replica took the equivalent of 74 years in man-hours to complete and rework over the course of all eight Harry Potter films. As part of the Triwizard Tournament event running from 15th May to 8th September 2025, this area now features the stunning projection show mentioned above, adding a whole new dimension to the Studio Tour’s finale. Elsewhere in the event, visitors can explore new displays including costumes from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang, see special effects demonstrations on the Backlot Stage, and even put their name into the Goblet of Fire after riding a broomstick in a green screen experience. Located in Leavesden, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter offers a behind-the-scenes look at the actual sets, props, and costumes used in the film series. Since opening in 2012, it has welcomed millions of fans into the Wizarding World. Just next door, production is now underway on the brand-new Harry Potter television series from HBO, with Dominic McLaughlin cast as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. The series will begin filming in 2025 and is set to debut in 2026 on Max.
