In this teaching on 2 Kings 14-15, Pastor Tyler Warner and Calvary Chapel Trussville examine three dangerous spiritual conditions that can quietly undermine our walk with God: spiritual compromise, spiritual error, and spiritual disregard. Through the reigns of kings like Amaziah, Jeroboam II, and a succession of assassinated rulers, we discover a sobering pattern—even good kings who mostly followed the Lord allowed 'high places' to remain, those unauthorized worship sites that competed with God's commanded place of worship in Jerusalem. These high places represent the areas in our own lives where we say, 'Yes, Lord, but...' Where we serve God on our terms rather than His. The message challenges us to examine our hearts honestly: Have we erected high places of compromise, allowing certain sins or indulgences to coexist with our faith? Have we embraced spiritual errors—false doctrines, borrowed religions, or cultural traditions that contradict Scripture? Or perhaps most dangerously, do we live in spiritual disregard, acknowledging God exists while making every decision as if He doesn't? The consequences are stark: Amaziah won a great victory but then overreached and lost everything. Jeroboam II expanded Israel's borders, yet the Bible declares him wicked because he led people away from true worship. When we permit spiritual inconsistency, we invite chaos and remove ourselves from God's full blessing. The call is clear: total devotion, absolute surrender, loving God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength—no exceptions, no reservations, no high places.
