Yamunotri Temple Darshsn - Chardham Darshan, Utrarakhand Our journey to the sacred Yamunotri Temple started from Janki Chatti, which is the last motorable point before the temple. Early in the morning, we began our 6 km trek through the beautiful Himalayan mountains. The path was filled with stunning views, small waterfalls, and the sound of the flowing Yamuna River beside us. Even though the trek was a bit challenging, the spiritual energy and devotion of the pilgrims around us kept us motivated throughout the journey. After trekking for around 6 kilometers, we finally reached the holy Yamunotri Temple, the first dham of the Char Dham Yatra. The first thing we did there was take a holy snan (bath) in the sacred hot water kund near the temple. The warm water coming from the natural hot springs is believed to be blessed and very purifying for devotees. We also visited the famous Surya Kund, where boiling hot water flows naturally from the mountain. Devotees often cook rice and potatoes in this hot spring as prasad for the goddess. Nearby, we also saw the Draupadi Kund, another sacred hot water spring that holds religious significance for pilgrims visiting Yamunotri. During our visit, we also took blessings at the Hanuman Temple located near the temple complex. The entire atmosphere around Yamunotri was filled with devotion, prayers, and the beautiful scenery of the Himalayas. After completing our darshan and visiting all these sacred places, we began our trek back down to Janki Chatti. Although the return journey was tiring, the experience of visiting Yamunotri and witnessing these holy sites made it truly memorable. Once we reached back, we continued our spiritual journey and left for our next destination, the sacred town of Gangotri, to continue the Char Dham Yatra.
