Old Bukit Panjang LRT train sending off for scrap [Bombardier Innovia APM 100 C801] (Set 118)

The oldest 1999 first-gen fleet of Bukit Panjang LRT [C801 model] is being retired currently as the system is undergoing fleet replacement with the newest third-gen Alstom C801B [running alongside existing 2014 second-gen Bombardier C801A]. As such, LTA has set up a temporary base site right outside Junction 10/Ten Mile Junction depot to facilitate transportation of old & new models and bringing of trains from ground to track 5m above ground (and vice versa) As of 12 September 2025, there’s only ONE pair [2 cars] of first-gen C801 left in service as compared to the original C801 fleet of 19 cars in 2023. Set 102/111 is the LAST pair of C801 in service currently. Filmed on 11 June 2025 7:12pm, it’s unusual for the trains to get sent off at this timing as it’s usually conducted late night with lesser road traffic.
