The 10th Sub-Junior National Rugby Sevens Championship (Under-15) begins with Day 1 of the Girls’ competition, live from the iconic Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar. Organised by Rugby India, in collaboration with the Government of Odisha, the Department of Sports & Youth Services (DSYS), and the Odisha Rugby Football Association (ORFA), the championship brings together the country’s top young rugby talent from 24 states. The Sub-Junior Nationals form a crucial entry point in India’s rugby development pathway, providing young athletes with early exposure to structured national-level competition. From 2024 onwards, the championship transitioned to a modified contact format at the Under-15 level, ensuring age-appropriate introduction to the physical aspects of the game under trained coaching and safety protocols.
