As per wikipedia, Jasper National Park, in Alberta, Canada, is the largest national park within Alberta's Rocky Mountains, spanning 11,000 km2 (4,200 sq mi). It was established as Jasper Forest Park in 1907, renamed as a national park in 1930, and declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1984. Its location is north of Banff National Park and west of Edmonton. The park contains the glaciers of the Columbia Icefield, springs, lakes, waterfalls and mountains. Many of North America's most iconic animals can be found at Jasper. The scenic drive is great. One of the most rewarding scenic drives in not just Jasper National Park, but in all the Rockies, is the Grande Alberta Trail, a first-class highway that takes you to some great, and remote, places for Jasper vacation sightseeing. This drive has everything you want in a Canadian Rockies scenic drive, rushing rivers, snow-covered mountain peaks to pristine blue-green lakes. Smiles abound on the Grande Alberta Trail in the Canadian Rockies. There’s also plenty of activities along the way, such as birdwatching or fishing,as you hike along this amazing part of Jasper.
