River Hamble entrance, up to Warsash, 15th July 2020

It's 2020, during the pandemic, and full lockdown in England had not long been relaxed, and here at RescueSkills, unable to carry out any first aid training, we were taking advantage of it to get the Safety and Rescue boat out for some initial sea trials after its refurbishment. This was the boats first day out, and having overtaken the Queen Mary 2 leaving Southampton Water, and watching her from Fawley (   • Cunard's RMS Queen Mary 2 leaving Southamp...  ), we crossed Southampton Water at the recommended crossing point, and entered the River Hamble. In this short video we enter the River Hamble, passing by the Warsash Maritime Academy lifeboat training pontoon, before heading up to Warsash, where we pause to look at the public slipway, briefly head up towards Hamble again, and turn to head back out of the river, passing Hamble Point Marina and their slipway on the starboad side. Having left the river, we head back down Southampton Water, passing Netley, and onwards towards Southampton Docks. You see P&O's Arcadia in the distance, which is shown in one of our other videos (   • P&O's Arcadia leaving Southampton 15th Jul...  ). The quality isn't fantastic I'm afraid - it's filmed on a £24.99 action camera! The annoying clicking you can hear turned out to be the shutter button rattling in the casing! First aid training isn't a rich mans vocation - I'd love to be able to afford a decent GoPro, but we don't make enough money.
