Did you know the prefix z can be challenging even for Czech native speakers when it comes to the spelling? It's because sometimes z- at the beginning of the verb can be pronounced as [s], e.g. zkusit [skusit]. As you might know, there is also the prefix s- which is sometimes pronounced as [z]: sbalit [zbalit]. In that case it is impossible to hear the difference.
