Video footage from a Hungarian family VHS tape from July 1993. NOTE: I deleted almost ALL the scenes that showed my family, due to privacy reasons. The uploaded video is basically 15% of the original record. I tried to add subtitles, but the video maker messed it up a bit... Generally, I thought it would be interesting to show what a summer holiday was like in Croatia during the Yugoslav Wars. I was 6 years old back then. Originally we went to Slovenia, but left it a day later because we didn't like the beach. I have faint memories of how my father and the other male members of the family first went to Croatia to make sure it was safe for us, the women and the kids too. As far as I can remember, it was advised not to go further south due to the war's situation, that's why we ended up in the northern part of the Croatian shores (Istria peninsula). Bijela Uvala was definitely not overcrowded by tourists... And we enjoyed this place so much that we even went back in 1994 too. After that, we did not go back to Croatia until 2000.
