The Rascher Saxophone Ensemble was recorded at Coronet Recording Co., Columbus, Ohio in 1974, and Union College, Schenectady, New York on July 2 & 3, 1975. "This recording was made as a result of many summer workshops at various places led by Sigurd Rascher. The ensemble is not a professional group, but rather a gathering of saxophone enthusiasts, joined together by the love of their instrument. The development of the saxophone ensemble has made considerable progress and found even more lovers of this unusual medium, listeners as well as players. The repertoire has grown strongly; original works have been and are being written by well-known composers. Let us hope that Adolphe Sax's dream prevails!!!"
