When I showed up ready to fish, the Dana Point long jetty was unexpectedly closed, so I made the drive back home to the Oceanside Jetty after hesitating and wondering if I should fish the Dana Point short jetty— and it turned out to be the right move. By the end of the day, I landed 17 total fish and 8 different species, making this an unforgettable Southern California jetty fishing session! The bite was non-stop, and the variety was insane: 🐟 Calico Bass 🐟 Opaleye 🐟 Walleye Surfperch 🐟 Black Perch (Butterlip) 🐟 Sand Bass 🐟 Jacksmelt 🐟 Rock Wrasse 🐟 Sargo Whether you love multi-species fishing, SoCal inshore fishing, or just watching a wild day of action on the rocks, this one’s for you!
